Seed germination of Adenium seed is very easy. Take a small pot and put sandy loom soil. Do not mix any fertilizer in soil. Apply seeds and cover it slightly just to cover seeds with same soil. spray water to keep soil moist. spray water regularly/every morning. Seed will start germinate after 5-10 days and ready to transplant after 1-2 months

Planting and care

Sunlight

  • Natural bright light with morning sunlight for 3-6 hours is required for Adenium flowering.

Soil

  • The soil should be well drained and fertile, rich in organic content.

Watering

  • Poke your finger/plain small stick into the soil to check the moisture.
  • Apply 3 cup (Approx. 150 ml) water when the top soil (3-4 inch) in pot feels dry to touch.
  • Apply water preferably in morning or evening time.
  • Do not over-water the plant.
  • As a rule of thumb, water the plant thoroughly in the summer and reduce watering in winter and rainy season.
  • In winter Poush-Magh-Falgun, leave soil dry.

Application of Fertilizer

  • Before the application of fertilizer loosen the topsoil without disturbing the roots of the plant so it can uptake the nutrients and moisture.
  • During the main growing season feed the plant with organic fertilizer once a month.
  • Apply water immediately after application of fertilizer.
  • Do not apply fertilizer when plant is in flowering condition.

Plant Protection

  • Remove dead, infected or damaged plant parts and discard them away from the plants.
  • For any insect attack or disease, you can use Neem oil or Citrus oil spray for primary treatment.

Don’t

  • Do not over water the plant especially when pot does not have drainage holes.
  • Avoid applying water on flowers and leaves it may cause fungus infection.
  • Do not apply fertilizer when plant is in flowering condition.
